The Solute Water Filter EQ. The Longhi Combi BCO, ECAM, Magnifica, among other things, improves if relevant water quality by lowering impurities in tap water such as chlorine, lead or copper, lime and other fragrances and flavors. This then ensures the preservation of the perfect coffee aroma and a good cup of coffee!
Although the Solute water filter EQ. The Longhi Combi BCO, ECAM, Magnifica reduces the lime in your device, there will always be limescale. After all, lime is needed to be able to make a good cup of coffee so don't think that with a water filter you will reduce the lime to 0. That is why we recommend descaling your coffee maker after approximately 350 to 400 settings.

Step 1: Remove the water reservoir. Throw away the water present and the old filter. Check if the reservoir is clean.
Step 2: Fill the reservoir with drinking water and hold the new filter for half a minute to a minute upside down under water! This ensures that the air bubbles can escape from the water filter. (Keeping the water filter in water upside down is crucial to optimally use the water filter in your machine. You can also keep the water filter upside down in a bowl with water.)
Step 3: Attach the new filter in the water reservoir and place the reservoir back in the machine.
Step 4: Tap a few cups of water via the steam pipe before you use the machine again.
