Step 1: Remove the water reservoir. Discard the water and the old filter. Check if the reservoir is clean.

Step 2: Fill the reservoir with drinking water and hold the new filter upside down under water for half a minute to a minute! This allows air bubbles to escape from the water filter. (Holding the water filter upside down in water is crucial for optimal use of the water filter in your machine. You can also hold the water filter upside down in a bowl of water.)

Step 3: Attach the new filter to the water reservoir and place the reservoir back into the machine.

Step 4: Drain a few cups of water through the steam nozzle before using the machine again.
